Emily Monroe has served as a section violinist in the Richmond Symphony since 2022 and is the Artistic Director of the Richmond Chamber Players. She is an active chamber musician and baroque violinist, with recent performances in concert series presented by the Smithsonian Academy Orchestra, Central Music Society of Central Virginia, the Washington National Cathedral, and Three Notch’d Road: The Virginia Baroque Ensemble.
In 2022, Emily received a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan. During her time in Ann Arbor she served as a section violinist in the Ann Arbor Symphony, Concertmaster of the University of Michigan’s Symphony Orchestra, and as a member of UM’s Baroque Chamber Orchestra.
Previously, Emily earned a Bachelor of Music with a minor in Baroque Violin from Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music and attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts high school program.
