We are thrilled to announce that award-winning Abigail Kent, Harpist, is going to be one of our feature performers at the GreenSpring Music Festival this Summer! Abigail Kent communicates emotions and stories through music, using the harp as a passport to the human heart. An international award-winning harpist, Fanfare Magazine recognized them for their “immaculate playing and musical sensitivity.” Some of Abigail’s international awards and honors include “New Artist” in Musical America International Magazine, winner of the touring “Concert Artist” position for the American Harp Society, and Live Finalist for the Young Concert Artists International Auditions.

Anna Smith is a classical harpist from York, Pennsylvania. As an undergraduate at Shenandoah Conservatory, she studies harp with Ms. Lynnelle Ediger. She is  the co-founder of Calypso Harp Duo alongside harpist Brynn Olden which performs free concerts throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. Anna has performed with the Shenandoah Conservatory Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. In 2024 she was invited to perform with former Royal Harpist, Claire Jones, in Jones’s concert series releasing her new collaborative album, 2K+ Fusion. In the summer of 2024, she was awarded a scholarship to work for the GreenSpring International Academy of Music, where she taught classes, led rehearsals, and curated research on historic harps. Anna often performs solo recitals, with a specific goal to inform the public about harp and organ duo repertoire. Most recently, she performed Aria in Classic Style by Marcel Grandjany with organist, Terry Sisk.

The GreenSpring American Youth Harp Ensemble is pleased to present “Classical Jam!,” Saturday, June 6 at 3:00 pm at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 503 Stuart Circle, Richmond, VA 23220. From Classical to Contemporary and from Broadway to Baroque, each year the “Classical Jam!” features arrangements that defy the typical expectation of the harp, and this year is no exception. Tickets are available online here or at the door, $20 for adults, $10 for seniors and college students, $5 for children.
