A week of extraordinary musical performances is coming to Frederick County this August, and all concerts are free admission. The 2026 GreenSpring Music Festival transforms historic churches and intimate venues across Thurmont into concert halls from August 9-15, bringing world-renowned artists alongside emerging talent for eight performances that promise to captivate audiences of all ages.

Stars and Prodigies Take the Stage

This year's lineup reads like a who's who of classical music excellence. Concert pianist Alexander Kordzaia, classical guitarist Colin Davin, violinist Rachel Zhao, and harpists Abigail Kent and Krista Hagglund headline the Festival. Plus, excitement surrounds two piano prodigies who are making waves in the classical music world: 12-year-old Vance McGraw and 16-year-old Caleb Coyne. "These two young musicians are absolutely extraordinary," said Lynnelle Ediger, Executive Director. "Hearing them perform live is an experience you won't forget." The Festival also showcases 13 talented early-career musicians who hail from across the nation and as far away as China through the competitive Festival Fellows program, offering audiences a rare glimpse at tomorrow's classical music stars today.

From the Opening Faculty Concert on Sunday, August 9, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Utica, to intimate chamber music performances and complimentary lunchtime concerts (with free lunch!), the Festival offers multiple opportunities to experience exceptional music in beautiful, acoustically rich settings.
