Kathy Robinson is in her 21st year as the Orchestra and Guitar Director at Manchester High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Mrs. Robinson grew up in Chesterfield County and attended Midlothian High School. She has experience teaching strings to all levels and ages. She was a member of the VCU guitar faculty for 25 years and previously taught 4th-12th grade at the Collegiate School. Her session "How to be a rockin' guitar teacher" was presented at the Virginia Music Educators convention 3 years ago. She has had Manchester HS students selected for Senior & Central Regional Orchestras, All Virginia Guitar Ensemble and All National Guitar Ensemble. Kathy is currently a member of the Virginia Music Educator's Guitar Council. As a council member, she strives to advocate for guitar education in the Commonwealth. A career highlight was co-founding the Chesterfield All-County Guitar Festival, elevating the art of the guitar in the public school system.

Mrs. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar performance and Master of Music degree in music education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She performs with her husband in the Robinson Guitar Duo and with the VCU Community Guitar Ensemble where has been a featured soloist. Kathy teaches private lessons in violin/viola/cello/bass and guitar. She lives in Midlothian with her husband David, father-in-law Elman and her four children; Dylan, Spencer, Sammy and Daisy. Last year she also added 2 Australian Shepards, Luna and Memphis, to the family.
