“Being ONE in two instruments, in duo, in multi cultures…”

Pianists, Selin Şekeranber and Yudum Çetiner, have been continuing their musical journey since 2008 to unify differences and to promote richness. Young artists who present their concerts with a colorful and original musical approach in which they blend traditional Turkish music with classic Western music have managed to bring a new breath in duo piano repertoire.

The artists, who have the title of being the only duo that has master level studies in piano duo in Turkey, graduated from Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. While working with worldwide known piano duo Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl, their repertoire in Western classical music greatly expanded.

The duo is the only Turkish pianists to have won the Jury Special Award among 200 competitors at the Ibla Grand Prize World Music Competition in Italy. Following this, they received invitations from many places. Some international music festivals that they have participated are Switzerland Lausanne Music Festival, Stuttgart Typisch Turkish Festival, International France Belfort Music Festival FIMU, Marsyas Culture, Art and Music Festival, İstanbul Bosch Young Classicists Festival, Stuttgart “Hock Am Turm" Music Festival and the most popular Italian piano festival, PianoCity Milano. The duo also received an invitation for a concert from Estonia Tallinn Music and Performing Arts Academy where they gave master classes for piano duo chamber music.

The duo performed Fazıl Say’s Concerto for Piano Duo and Orchestra for the first time in Turkey with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphonic Orchestra in 2017 and held concerts with Stuttgart Orhestra-Verein, Turkish Presidency Symphony Orchestra, İzmir Symphony Orchestra, and Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra. They performed 20th century works by German composers at the Munich Philharmonic and Würzburg Cathedral with Stuttgart Percussion Ensemble.

The duo has made the musical arrangement of Fazıl Say’s “Black Earth” piece for piano duo world known and promoted this to musicians via Schott, one of the most prestigious musical publishing house in Germany.

Selin Şekeranber and Yudum Çetiner are continuing their concerts and academic careers in the international music world. The duo has an album, “The Essence of Piano Duo” published by A.K. Music in 2014.
