Curt Sydnor is a Virginia-based concert pianist, composer and music educator. Equally at home in classical, jazz and contemporary music settings, Curt has graduate degrees in classical and jazz piano performance (double major) from the prestigious Jacobs School at Indiana University, where he also served on the faculty, and classical piano from the world-renown Russian Academy of Music, Moscow.
His undergraduate degree is in piano performance from Vanderbilt University. Curt has concertized across the globe as a solo pianist. From 2011 to 2018 he was based in Brooklyn, NY where he was on the faculty of the Third Street Music Settlement, Harvest Collegiate, and Merit School of Music.
He is passionate about teaching piano to students of all ages and levels, chamber music and music theory.composition. He has won numerous awards as a composer and has a solo album and many recording credits to his name, with a new album coming out in late 2019 on the jazz label Out of Your Head Records. He is currently composing a sonata for church organ.
