David Robbins earned his Master of Music in Piano Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor of Music at the Shenandoah Conservatory, and studied with Stephen Drury, Bruce Brubaker, Gabriel Chodos, Elizabeth Temple, Suzanne W. Guy, and Joan Edwards. David is a pianist with collaborative and improvisational skills. A full-time accompanist for the School of the Richmond Ballet, he moved to Richmond from Boston, where he worked for the Boston Ballet School and the Handel & Haydn Society. In Boston, he was also the principal pianist for the New Bedford Symphony, and performed with the Plymouth Philharmonic, Improv Asylum, Urbanity Dance, Dance Visions, Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice, New England Conservatory Choruses, Leonard Bernstein Festival, Charles Ives Festival, and New Music Brandeis. In Virginia, Dave performed with the Virginia Symphony, and has worked with Broadway Across America. As a music director, he has worked with the Turtle Lane Playhouse, Emerson College, and other area churches.
